This course provides a working knowledge of supervisory skills necessary for dealing with human problems within the organization. It covers elements such as general management, communication, motivation, discipline, negotiation and conflict management.
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Define the supervisory functions and responsibilities.
- Understand the key management concepts in dealing with human problems in the organization.
- Identify and explain the theories of motivation in the organization.
- Examine the impact of specific leadership styles and their effect on morale.
- Explain the basic steps of decision making.
- Explain the effect of job enrichment on employee’s motivation.
- Know how to determine values and priorities with specific emphasis of time management.
- Explain the communication process in the workplace, and the barriers to this process.
- Evaluate the benefits of group decision-making versus individual decision-making.
This course is open-entry. There are no prerequisites for entry.
